Ranking Member Bost Statement on Biden Administration's Illegal Action to Provide Abortion through VA

Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.) the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, released the following statement after Secretary McDonough announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs was acting to provide abortion through the VA healthcare system.
"Abortion is wrong, and Congress prohibited VA from providing it decades ago," said Ranking Member Bost. "This proposal is contrary to longstanding, settled law and a complete administrative overrreach. I oppose it and am already working to put a stop to it." Last year, Ranking Member Bost and hundreds of House Republicans wrote to Secretary McDonough to reiterate that VA is prohibited in law from providing abortion. That letter can be found here. |
