Ranking Member Roe: “The vandalizing that occurred last night at the World War II Memorial and other sites dedicated to those veterans is an affront to them”

Today, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement condemning the vandalization of the WWII Memorial and other sites that occurred yesterday evening in our nation’s capital:

“For generations, veterans of all ages, races, and creeds have fought under the American flag for freedom, liberty, and justice for all and in defense of the rights enshrined in our constitution, including the right to peacefully assemble. The vandalizing that occurred last night at the World War II Memorial and other sites dedicated to those veterans is an affront to them. I share the anger and sadness voiced today by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and The American Legion upon seeing the damage that was done to those sacred sites and join them in condemning the criminal actions that caused them.”
